How Young is Young?
There's going to be a Young Leader's meeting at this year's SBC Convention. Wade Burleson is speaking, and a lot of people who I'd like to meet are going to be there. But I have a question:

How old is too old to be a young leader? Last year on my birthday, I got to use the Monty Python quote "I'm 37 -- I'm not old!" This year, is it "I'm 38 -- I'm not young!"? I may be a pastor by then, so I'd be a leader, but the "young" part is in decided dispute.
Maybe I'll just show up anyway. If nothing else, then they'd call me Caleb.

Oh, that's nothing man! I went to the regional event in Nashville and we had a 45 year old at our table (it was split up into tables of 8 for discussion) who seemed plenty confident to be there. Kevin Shrum sat at the table next to us and participated (and he's no spring chicken himself). I even saw some gray hair. So I think "younger" is well chosen word. The leaders that attend this are younger than those in power in the SBC. Thus, you would well qualify. Does that make you feel better?

I like the way that sounds, D.R.
And if I'm there, you'll see some grey hair. I stopped using the Grecian Formula when the pulpit committee at the church I've been preaching at said "He's kinda young, isn't he?"
